Pleasantly surprised
I checked in at JW Marriott on Adams in Chicago today and received a nice note thanking me on my 15th stay ( I had not been keeping track), and crediting me 10,000 points. This is one of the things that keeps me coming back.
So what features/perks makes everyone else likely to come back to the same hotel? I know I love thermostats that let you control the fan, plenty of power outlets by the bed, free wifi, and decadent shower.... |
After suffering some incredibly bad publicity last August with the Legionnaires disease outbreak, I'm sure that property _has_ to go the extra mile.

on a side note last week I needed 8 rooms for a last minutre reservation (funeral) and the rate they had was $509. I called to see if they would match the Omni at $440 since I couldn't ask people to pay more just to stay at a marriott like I may choose to do. They said normally they offer a discounted rate, but these were club access rooms and they couldn't discount those. No different in size btw. I then asked if they could upgrade other elites into those rooms so I could use their rooms. They denied that too. We never were going to use the club as I pointed out when I called as well. I am Plat and just another example why I am starting up with Starwood this year. It was less than 48 hours out. I just don't see how they wouldn't have booked 8 rooms at $440 vs taking the chance of them going empty.

In the same vain, I love when other properties continue to sell club rooms at a premium over the weekend when they aren't open!
