Updated to add: when I checked into the hotel, they didn't require an authorization nor did they actually ask for the id I was supposed to produce (but same hotel asked for dif id one time when i was under a particular rate, so think that's the luck of the draw & better to have just in case).

I received the same "Written Authorization Required" when I booked an award stay online at the Rome Grand Flora. I called the Plat. line and they said to ignore it.

I finally got in to the Grand Flora :p
