Delayed Surveys
 

Yesterday's mail brought a survey about one of my Marriott stays over a month ago. How in the world am I supposed to remember what worked or didn't work, how the staff spoke to me, etc. given the amount of time that's elapsed and given the fact that I've stayed about 12 nights in other hotels since then?

Why can't these things go into the mail within days or at most a week following a stay? Clearly Marriott's looking for quality information but there's almost no way I can provide it at this point (in the absense of something having gone extremely wrong or extemely right that would stick out in my recollection).

I have gotten these as much as three months after a stay. I definitely prefer the e-mailed surveys.

I agree. I could never remember one hotel from the other unless something very bad or very good happened. I haven't received one of these surveys in a long time but then again I never filled them out either. To be frank it just used to bug me that Marriott expected me to use my very limited "free" time to fill out what I felt was a very lengthy survey with 5 or 6 various of good to bad in each question and they expected me to do this out of the goodness of my heart. Just like when I get a call to participate in a phone survey. My first question is "Are you going to compensate me for my time answering your questions?" If not then give me one good reason why I should give up some of my valuable time answering your survey.

Well, this is at least the third one I've gotten in the past year, so I don't know...

In this case, how about so that your next stay at that property would better meet your needs?
