marriott elite matching?
 

has anyone heard of marriott "matching" elite status in other hotel programs?

Do a search on the subject- you will find all sorts of information....

I was comp'd platinum. Read all about it here. I'm not sure whether it was because of my previous spend and projected stays, or whether I was already a Hilton diamond. At any rate, I had to ask and sent them the documentation, so it can be done. Just don't expect to walk in off the street and ask for elite status. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I was not given a status match, however, Marriott issued me a Platinum challenge instead. 20 stays in 3 months. Hope this helps.

I was a HH Gold and called Marriott. They had me fax my HH statement and comped me silver for 2003.
