Is Fairfield Resort related to Marriott?

I got a telemarketing call today offering a Harrah's vacation package in Vegas.

I was wondering how on earth they got my contact information, since I've never stayed Harrah's or joined any type of casino club.

The website they gave me was www.fairfieldfun.com , so I'm wondering if it's a Marriott company...

Fairfield Resorts are a timeshare operation and are unrelated to Marriott.

The mystery deepens then. I wonder if they purchased a list of Marriott elites or something.

I looked at the company that owns Fairfield Resort, and I've never done business with any of their business units...:

There is also a chain of budget-type (but quite good) motels with the name of Fairfield Inn. This chain is part of the Marriott operation.
We were at the Fairfield Inn in Independence, MO., visiting the Truman Museum last month. Nice, reasonable place to stay, near several restaurants, including a good Italian place. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I thought the Fairfield resort/timeshare folks were related to Hilton.
