waiting lists?
 
Anyone have any recommendations for finding open rooms for an upcoming weekend that seems completely booked?

I'm trying to go to Charlottesville, VA Oct 17-19 and because of the football game everything is booked solid. I'm only silver elite with Marriott but am trying to get something going.

I've called each hotel and none of them have waiting lists, which seems a bit weird. Any suggestion on the best way to find open rooms (i.e. is marriott.com the best or does orbitz.com sometimes have rooms marriott.com will not?, etc.)?

Keep trying to get on the waiting list, this is UVA football you are talking about, those fans will bail off the bandwagon real fast

you will have your pick of rooms to choose from
