Marriott Rewards PointSavers subject to availability??

*UPDATE Start*
Checked again this morning and I did see the PointSaver nights in October. I was able to modify my booking to save 5000 points.
Tip: don't give up so easily and do check back often. It is likely that the PointSaver for this hotel for certain month(Oct.) won't show availability until the 1st of the month.
*UPDATE End*

"booking online for a PointSavers stay on Oct. 4th at Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. the online system asks for 20,000 points for a one-night stay, but the PointSavers should be 15,000 points.

the hotel is listed as PointSavers for the date on Marriott website at http://www.marriott.com/rewards/marr...PointSavers.mi

Does anyone know if the PointSavers is subject to availability? Anyone had the similar experience before?

Thanks very much,"

When I look at that hotel for that date the website does not offer a Pointsaver award, only a regular award. Why do you think PS should be avialable on that date?

All awards are subject to availability, and PointSavers are even more restricted - typically only available during off season demand periods.

http://www.marriott.com/rewards/marr...PointSavers.mi lists the available properties/periods, and notes that their are new deals every week. Right now is only shows 17 US properties, each for only 1 to 3 week periods, or specific Sunday and Thursday nights, etc..

If PS awards were available all the time why would anyone ever book a regular award? Surely the OP didn't think they were always avaialbe at every hotel?

http://www.marriott.com/rewards/marr...PointSavers.mi

according to the above link, the Marriott Bloomington-Normal is listed for PointSavers for the date of Oct. 4th.

In addition to 4th of October, there are other 6 dates in October are also listed as PointSavers. However, all of them are only available for 20,000 points (not 15,000 PointSavers) if you book online.

Are there any inconsistencies between the above link and the book engine?
Thanks,

Use My dates are flexible check box and Number of nights of 1 to search for actual days PS are available. Doing so I found the following dates available at this hotel:

Sep 22, 23, 28, no PS in October.

PS rooms were probably previously available for booking the weekends specified in the link you provided, but the limited PS inventory has already been booked by others.

Yes, the above link is a static advertisement (other than dropping dates that have past) which was probably posted sometime back in the summer. It does not access hotel inventory, although that would be a nice feature, but we all know too well how Marriott handles enhancements so we won't even (seriously) go there.

[SARCASM]FWIW, I pretty much see less and less PS availability, so soon as Marriott further implements this enhancement we won't have to worry about things like this as there will be no more PS. ;) [/SARCASM]

thanks for confirming that the PS is indeed subject to availability.

You're welcome.

I am a few points short for a Pointsavers reward. If I book now and it drops off the Pointsavers promotion, will I have to pay the standard redemption rate later at the time I order the certificate?

I think you have to do the entire booking over since I think it 'remembers' the rate at type of booking. You can of course work to get the points you need for the difference before the stay. If you had the points, I would have to rebook anyway.

This conversation is probably not relevant when using multicategory certs (unless a property changes categories up after you making a booking).
