Largest Marriott Hotel
 

What's the largest Marriott property, based on rooms?

I'd guess at about 2,000 rooms the title would go to the Marriott Marquis in New York.

What are the largest of each brand (Ritz Carlton, Renaissance, Courtyard, etc.)?

It use to be NYC Marquis but Orlando World Center had a 500 room addition a few years ago making it exactly 2000 rms (NYC Marquis is 1944 rms)

Largest for each brand...hmm...Renaissance I'm not really sure; Ritz-Carlton I believe is Orlando, CY not sure because there have been quite a few urban hotels built in the past few years but I believe it's PHL (498 rms), same things for RI (quite a urban built); FFI I believe is Anaheim (467 rms)

Speaking of the Marquis (my home away from home)... a few months ago the front desk asked me to fill out a survey, which they gave only to their "most valued" guests (la ti da). Just for filling out the survey, they gave me a $50 gift card on the spot. One of the survey questions asked for your favorite room. I answered 3004 - a huge corner room on the concierge floor with a view of the Hudson. Ever since I filled out that survey, they've put me up in 3004, and I've never asked for it. Nice touch, IMHO.....

I remember when they were poised to affiliate more closely with the MGM Grand. That would have resolved the question nicely.

Yes I remember that well....they were having us develope a number of hotels to build/manage for them in Vegas, then the economy changed and they changed their mind

Would have been great - my favorite destination with my favorite hotel chain. Sigh. Enjoyed cashing those awards at the MGM while the courtship was ongoing. Thinking of trying the JW later this summer if it's still a Marriott by then.

They're also part of one of the two main groups bidding on the Aladdin. They would take the hotel (making it a Renaissance), and their partners would take the casino (proposed name is Asia). I think the Dark Side (*wood) is in the other group, which would make the casino a Planet Hollywood.

FWIW, largest Renaissance I have see is the Parc 55 Renaissance in San Francisco (1,010 rooms).
