need advice on brother using X14

I'd like to give my brother one of these and I know they are not transferable. We both have the same last name-could I book it in my name and have him show up with the cert?

The hotel I want to use it at is the Renaissance London Heathrow.

Appreciate all comments.

I have given X14 to family members and they had no problem using. When the reservation is made explain what you are doing. Like I said, I have not had a problem.

Put both your names on the res. just 2B sure. Your brother/friend/whatever checks in & if asked, says that you'll be there later http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif. Better yet, loan him your MR card.

FWIW, when I used my cert at the Renaissance Munich, they checked my passport when I registered. I don't know if they looked carefully at the cert, but a credit card with a different name and signature than what is on the passport might arise suspicion.
