Marriott Recommendations in Reno

I'm planning a trip to Reno this summer in conjunction with some historical activities in Virginia City. If anyone has stayed at either the Courtyard or the Residence Inn in the not too distant past I would appreciate any comments regarding condition of the properties and the neighborhoods they are located in. Will be there over a week-end. Any information you can give will certainly be appreciated.

We stay at the Residence Inn several times a year. It is clean, usually very quiet, and the front desk always polite and helpful. It is on the south end of town, on Gateway Dr, right off So Meadowlands Parkway exit on the 395 expressway. The area is perfect, being a new idustrial/business area. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Very respectable and safe area.

Thanks for your comments, ChgoBob. I've gone ahead and made reservations to stay at the Residence Inn.

Just for future information, if anyone has any comments about the Courtyard Reno, I'd appreciate hearing them also.

You're very wecome, NotYet. We'll be there in 2 weeks. Have never stayed at the Courtyard, but it also looks very convenient, right off the XWay. If memory serves me right, it is one exit further North, right off Del Monte Lane, on Virginia St.
