Bridgewater NJ Marriott
If anyone has stayed here recently and has any information that they could share about this hotel and the restaurant/lounge, that info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob |
I'll be staying here soon also, looking for a little input. Thanks.

I am glad this hotel was brought up. A few things about it.
It is brand new as it opened its doors in May of this year. This hotel is trying to compete with the Short Hills Hilton. Even though this is a new hotel it has had no trouble attracting major clients such as the Rutgers University Football team, Johnson and Johnson, and other companies in the area. The Restaruant, 'The New York Steak House' is excellent with great service. The lounge is right next to it and serves a wide varitey of snacks sushi included (I think). I have not stayed their yet, but I have eaten there. A very close family friend is the marketing director there. If you want to bring any business to the hotel in terms of groups, etc., let me know and I will give you his name. |
Maybe I should start staying here. I saw it being built and then open.
I go to Bridgewater every month, but usually stay at a less-than-year old CY in Basking Ridge or the CY in Somerset which just opened last month. |
Checked in here now for a brief 3 day stay to check out this property. More perhaps when time permits.

Bump.
Any news about this place? I'll be there soon... |
I'm not sure that I would use that as a promo item LOL
I sure hope the hotel team is better at the hotel business than Rutgers is on the gridiron Originally posted by I LOVE EWR: Even though this is a new hotel it has had no trouble attracting major clients such as the Rutgers University Football team |
Stayed there this week! The rooms are nicely furnished with the new Marriott room 'do', and there is a particularly well equipped gym.
Given the high price however, there were a few details that I felt should have been better attended to. My room wasn't as clean as it could have been (found some nasty stray hairs in the bathroom and in one of the blankets), and the Concierge lounge attendant was MIA along with some key breakfast items (i.e. no spoons for cereal, no napkins). The price would have to drop significantly before I'd stay there again. |

I'm at the hotel now and it is very nice. This is the VERY FIRST time in all my years as a Marriott Silver member that I've been allowed access to a concierge lounge!
If I was treated this nice at all the Marriott's I stayed at I'd stay a lot more. But perhaps not 50 nights per year, which I guess is what it really takes to get treated decently at most Marriott's? |
Any recent stay experiences please?
Does anyone have recent experience at this hotel? I'll be passing through the area, with two kids, and wonder if this is a good place for a bit of R&R. Good dinner, nice pool, maybe some shopping nearby is what I'm looking for.
Thanks for your help! :) |
I'm resurrecting this thread...
I have been staying at this hotel almost every week since April 2010. Here are a few observations:
There are some major service flaws at this hotel, but I guess all of that could be overlooked. However, the failure to provide adequate internet connectivity (both wired and wireless) is absolutely unacceptable in 2010 - when you are paying $195 and up per night for this property. It's really too bad there isn't a Starwood property close by. That would force changes at the Marriott. Unfortunately, it is the only full-service hotel in Bridgewater, and they have a captive audience of pharmaceutical clients who need to stay there - so they have not been open or responsive to feedback. |
