How is Marriott

I am deciding to either move over to the Marriott or stay with Starwood. Any suggestions.

I'm a very loyal Marriott guy for one reason: you know what you're going to get. For my work, I often end up in some not-so-glamourous spots. I don't know what kind of room I'm going to get if I book at a Sheraton, but I do know that if I book at a Courtyard in someplace like Lubbock, Texas or Springfield, Ill., I'm going to have big desk with a phone there, there's going to be a workout room so I can at least hop on the treadmill for 30 minutes and I know the place is going to be clean.

I will openly admit that the high-end hotels in other chains are nicer in spots, but the prices are higher. I can stay in a Marriott virtually anywhere and turn in a receipt that doesn't raise the ire of the bean counters and I rarely have problems with Marriott properties.

You don't say where you travel too, but I like Marriott b/c they are very consistant; from the low end Fairfield Inn to the Marriott Resorts and all points in between. I believe Marriott has a true elite program that is difficult to obtain;maintain but it is by no means the watered down versions of the other majors.

Im plat at MR; plat at spg; diamond at Hh and they are all great in their own way and all have their benefits

SPG: Good (No blackouts, *Wood Lurker, plat desk)Bad (lack of overall selection, lack of low end properties; price is often beat by Hilton or Marriott properties)

Hilton: Good (Double Dip; Many Promos, at least there has been who knows now; Great selection, great price ranges, diamond desk) Bad (Devalued points, watered down gold and diamond tiers)

Marriott: Good (Selection; Elite level; price ranges; consistancy of the product) Bad (lack of promos; take two is nice but of the big four chains; MR has the least number of promos)
