using airline miles for marriott stay

I have american, delta, continental, etc miles in their respective programs.
I have a marriott card with no points/miles.
Does it make sense to use miles for a 2 day weekend stay. The best rate I found is 56 a night. If I used miles, it seems I'd need 40000. Is there a better way to do this.

Save the miles. I would just pay the $56 a night. At most you will end up paying 200 after taxes and everything, and you could use 40000 miles for a plane ticket that costs upwards of 700
