Coutyard San Francisco

Has anyone stayed at the new Courtyard downtown ? Also, any comments about the Fishermans Wharf location ? Thanks for any info.

I do not recommend the F-Wharf CY. I stayed there in January--my worst CY experience ever. Had a room overlooking the street and the noise woke me several times. This is an older property which just recently became a CY. A window in ths third floor common area was left open so someone could have easily climbed up and into an interior hallway. I was in SF for 4 nights stayed at the CY for 2--called Marriott and complained so they comped me to the downtown Marriott (which I absolutely loved)

I'm too lazy to go search for my reply to the same question in another thread, so I'm going to do the unthinkable and actually answer it again! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I've now stayed there three times since the property opened at the beginning of the year. Each time it's been progressively better. The property is a bit off the beaten path, but if walking anywhere touristy isn't important, it's a good value most of the time. It can be a challenge getting a taxi right away, since it's not along the traditional taxi "routes", but the staff is very helpful both in getting taxis and any other matter you need help with.

And the room service is pretty darn good, too! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yeah, I'm also too lazy! Perhaps this property has done a 180 since my stay in January. I mean in my stays at a couple hundred separate CY's, this is the only one I have ever walked out on.
I am curious about just how nice Courtyard roomservice can be?

IMHO, it has definitely done at least a 135 degree since January. In my first review of this property back in January, I stated that it would likely turn out to be a nice property, but opened too early. Fortunately, since then, they have completed the rooms (which at the time were about 60% done, although they were checking guests into the remaining 40% unwisely), staff have completed training (which should have been done before opening at all), and numerous glitches in the physical plant have been resolved. I would certainly recommend trying them again. I, too, was prepared to walk in January (although I didn't, due to a mild corporate battle over the fact that I was there in the first place), but have since learned to like this place.
