Upgrade Certificate/Voucher??
 

We already have our room reserved/confirmed and paid for ..... my question: is there such a thing as an "upgrade certificate/ voucher"? How can it be obtained? Thanks for any information on this subject.

There are upgrade awards available for points. If you're going to a beach property, you can get oceanview upgrades. Other locations also have upgrade awards available (like mountain view or whatever). I don't remember the number of points required, but it's on the marriott rewards web site.

5000 points each, but they apply only to certain properties when used with certain awards. The list of participating Marriott and Renaissance properties is buried in the rules of use somewhere. You can also use them to upgrade a Res. Inn from standard room to penthouse/2 bedroom.

Can they be used with paid stays (like to secure a suite) ?
