Trojan Horse: I believe my comments were not clear. What I meant was that government employees should not accept incentives from the hotels that aren't available to the public. Frequent flyer programs and hotel rewards programs that are available to the general public are not an issue because the vendor isn't doing anything for the government he wouldn't do for any other customer. But for Marriott to offer something ONLY for government employees that benefits ONLY the employee shouldn't happen. That's no different than them paying them cash to stay at their hotel.
