You can likely get your Plat back, if you don't get it automatically. My coworker only had 72 last year and got renewed.
I don't know how true this is, but a saw someone else post on here that he only had 39 nights last year and got his plat renewed. Seems far-fetched, but who knows.

I had to search for my own post from last year for the details.
With under 30 nights in 2008, I soft-landed to Gold for 2009. I'm expecting to be a lowly Silver for 2010.

Nights this year:
You have stayed 86 nights this year. You need 0 more night to maintain Platinum level.
Really thinking about going to Hilton or some other chain. Marriott needs to do something like Delta does to make people staying when the highest level has been reached. Like give extra 25k points for every 100, 125, 1500 etc nights. I'd take that

I ended the year with 48 nights. My account now shows I have 38 nights, which would be consistent with maintaining Gold... however the website also says that I'm a Plat. I presume this is an error that will be fixed.

I think you're plat. I'm in silver shoes that are gold.

I made Gold this year and ended the year with 72 nights. the 22 rollover nights posted, but the website also says "Platinum," which is weird. you'd think if they are comping me the last few nights to PLAT, they would zero down the rollover nights, right?
I will have to monitor this closely...

Ended year Gold with 71 nights. 2 nights posted for 2010 and now showing 23 nights and Platinum. I wasn't expecting Platinum until 2 more nights post and they do the weekend rolling nights sweep. Will have to see if it sticks.

I just logged into my father's account - he's showing Gold and 13 rollover nights. I think that's correct because it doesn't count the credit card nights, does it?

Got 43 as expected... However, as of December 31st (or thereabouts) my account used to say Platinum Premiere (even though this was my first year in the program) and now it says Platinum Elite.
What's the difference?

I got 40, as expected. Doesn't really matter, though, as a lifetime Platinum member.

49 nights last year. Given the pity-Plat based on previous years. No rollover nights showing on Marriott site.
