Marriott Pet Policy

I am having difficulty tracking down the Marriott pet policy.

However from what I have experienced and understand from my previous experience is the following:
-$100 deposit / non refundable.
-doesn't matter if you stay 1 night or 30 nights it's a $100 deposit.
-1 pet or 10 pets

Does status have any bearing on this deposit? I find it ridiculous to be charged a $100 non refundable deposit for a single night stay.

We stayed at a Res Inn in Boulder CO two months ago and did not pay a deposit, wasn't even mentioned. Last week we stayed at a TPS in Overland Park and were charged the $100 NR Deposit.

I am looking for other thoughts and experiences.

This varies property by property. Some require a deposit, some don't, some don't allow pets at all.

Best practice is to call ahead and ask.

It is normally listed on the hotel webpage (fact sheet) and can vary drasticly. Some cost nothing, some are refundable deposits and some I have seen as high as $250 deposit/NR. Don't even get me started on how a hotel can say it is "pet friendly" with a $250 NR deposit.

JW Denver is $0. A Fairfield Inn in St. George UT is $30 NR. The Cosmo on the strip in Vegas is a $50 refundable deposit.

It just depends.

Status does not have any effect on the pet policy...the only MI brands that has a brand wide pet policy is Residence Inn and TownPlace Suites...all other brands leave it up to the local hotel to decide (but there are SOP's if a hotel of another brand decides to allow pets)...in your case both the RI & TPS should have charged the fee (but as with everything individual hotels may grant exceptions at their own descretion)

MI does have a max pet fee hotels are allowed to charge (it does vary by brand)

So I called a Residence Inn and inquired about the fee. They said it was a non refundable sanitation fee for cleaning the room post stay. She compared it to someone smoking in the room and them having to clean it so the next person staying was allergic to said pets would not have issues.

I doubt they clean the rooms so well someone allergic to a dog would not have any reactions.

Justified fee I suppose.

As a non-pet lover, it should be a MINIMUM, and should be $10,000,000,000,00 per hour per pound of pet! (min one pound!) :p

we've had similar threads on this subject but yes the hotel is required to do a professional clean of everything (drapes, carpets etc) after the pet departs...doesn't matter if the pet is there 1 night or 999 nights

I'm sending my PlatPrem card cut up back to Mr Marriott with a letter demanding 538 points as compensation. :D:p

On a serious note, I was having my house hard wood floors redone, and had to stay at a local Residence Inn. Packed up the family, and checked in. Kids were bugging to go to the pool, so hit there first. We get there, and some IDI:rolleyes:T has fido/fefe in the dang pool. I lost it! Honestly...I actually feel bad, as I made a few remarks claiming he may have grown up in Southern LA....LOUISIANNA! :D

At the time of said explosion, the front desk manager (or general mngr?) happened to be walking by. He kindly asked the BOZO to get the dog out of the area....it is CLEARLY marked no pets in the pool/picnic area....and the guy decided to argue with him. Claiming he "paid 200 smackers (his words) for his dog to be there and is gonna get cooled off!"

The manager actually ended up removing the guy from the hotel I found out later when thanking him for helping to get the guy out of the pool.
