Total nights for 2001??

I'm just curious to see how may nights everyone will end up with this year?

I'm at 168 now and should end up at 178 by yrs end....

I hit 174 in September and switched to Hilton for the rest of the year due to there Gold comp, 50,000 point promo. All 174 were in Fairfield Inns so the switch to a Hilton Garden Inn was really a step up as the continental breakfasts at my primary Fairfield were going down hill very quickly.

I'm going to break 100 for the first time.

112 with 2 more nights to go--broke 100 thanks to the double nights. With the incentive running into March I should renew for 2003 by April.

I just hit 100, and I thought that was a lot

I guess I'm a slacker compered to everyone else. I'll end with 76 nights to just qualify for Platinum for the first time

SimonC Dec 16, 2001 6:34 am

Do you have a perm residence?
Geez!

Believe me.....there are plenty of others on this board that do more nights than my 237......unreal!! Having no wife or children is how I manage...I could not imagine anything close to these numbers and maintaining a family. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I am considering taking a new job that is probably going to net me at least 20 flight segments a month and probably 250+ nights a year. I am a family man with wife and kids. Should I do this?
PS: For all you road warriors out there: I'm curious, what kind of budget are you allowed for your accomodations and rental cars?

*thanks for the correction...Ooops

Being away from home 250+ nights a month is quite an accomplishment! (I know you meant 250+ nights per year, but I couldn't resist.)

Seriously, no one with young children should travel that much. And your wife better be the independent type.

Regarding travel budgets, I get an annual total that I can't exceed. How I spend it is basically my business (as long as I'm reasonable and have receipts for big-ticket items).

Before I consider this new job, I wanted to get an idea of what the "average" business travel is allowed for hotel expenses, cars, airline fares, etc. What would be low end for a professional, and what would be a mid-range, reasonable rate?

I am hoping to negotiate somewhere in the $80 to $100 a night range with my employer. Where does this fall based on everyone's experience? Thanks......
