Important Survey Re: Marriott Rewards Program Changes

It appears that I am not the only one who did not receive the new (2001)Marriott Rewards Program Books. I wonder how many others are out there who have not received the new program books (there are two books).

If you have not received the new (Marriott Rewards) Program Books, I would really appreciate it if you would place a response below, indcating that you did not receive the materials.

In talking with the folks at Marriott, they allege that they have no obligation to advise their members of such changes, and that they have mailed the new program materials to all of their members. (I have numerous colleagues who have still not received these materials).

In advance, many thanks.

I have not received this nor did I receive the email from Bill Marriott regarding all the sales, specials, etc. that someone else I spoke with today did receive (he is a MR member, but no status so maybe they aren't targeting their elite members but rather those who rarely stay at Marriott).

Am Platinum but received nothing but Bill's e-mail today noting the 9/11 tragedy.

I'm very new to this, but I received 2 emails from Bill. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

My only Rewards booklet basically says nothing and refers me to the website.

Some survey! You asked for responses from only those who didn't get the booklets. Considering how many people peruse this board, my guess is that there are far more of us who did get the new info (back in May) than who didn't get it.

However, when contacted by MAR about on-line statements, a mailing I almost threw out, I insisted that I continue with the old fashioned paper version. Perhaps those with on-line statements are expected to view the on-line program rules.

I received it, I think. My two books are 1)a small booklet listing of all their hotels and the 'category' of each, and 2) a longer colorful book listing the different rewards and packages.

Are you referring to newer program books than these? The one I have has a Category 6 package for two to Hawaii for 185,000 pts, for example.

KathyP Oct 4, 2001 7:39 am

I am Elite and got the E Mail from Bill regarding the tragedy but no E mail about the specials. I do not see anything about these on the Rewards web site either.

pwrshift,

could you please elaborate on the 185,000 point Hawaii reward for two? I am unfamiliar with that reward, and did not see it listed on their website.

Thanks!

By the way, I am a Platinum Elite and did receive the new Rewards Guide and Hotel Category Directory several months ago.

I am a Gold and also received the new books in May.

On the 185,000 points, I'm assuming this is code 081 which would give you 7 nights in Waikiki and 70,000 miles.

I have not seen any new promotions, but they did have this press release...
