I have 4 $25 Marriott Gift Certificates, exp 3/2002, that I will not use. I am hoping to offload them @ cost. If interested in them, please e-mail me.

My cost was $92.50.

I'm not looking to sell for profit here, just thought I'd offer it to the community.

I've received some offers of $40-$60. That's not what I had in mind. If I can't get something close to cost, I'd presume to gift them to someone rather that unload to bargain hunters.

Your offer reminds me of the guy who tries to sell his timeshare week for what he paid a developer for it last year.

With all due respect, there is no particular reason to buy at anything close to that price. We can all buy certificates at that price (including shipping) - but with 12 months before expiration - at www.volumebuy.com

To follow up that thought, as I explained to ontheroad in a private email, there is an inherent risk in buying things online and from strangers.

Why would anyone risk $92.50 so they MAY gain $8.50?

I've been posting here for 2 1/2 years. I've made many trades through 'Coupon Connection'.

I thought this was a community. My mistake.

The certificates will be donated or gifted. I'd rather do that than deal with the hagglers on this forum.

There is an interesting discussion in the Hyatt forum regarding the expiration dates of gift certificates. I was not aware of the fact that in some states such as California that certificates purchased with cash do not expire irrespective of a printed expiration date. This may impact your decision.

Actually, I don't blame you for trying to recoup cost. Do not be daunted by the posts here. Some savvy business traveler will buy them for 92.50 and make 7.50 on his/her company.
