Sure they do .. Platinum after 5 stays or 15 nights. They only have 2 elite levels.

I meant they don't have lower-end hotels comparable to Fairfield/Hampton or even Courtyard/HGI/Four Points.

Ahhh .. yes, no low end properties at Hyatt.

Underpressure-
This is off topic, but I found it interesting that you single out one particular hotel chain that offers pay per view movies, and them critizie them for being hypocrites. Marriott Hotels is not a religion, nor do they represent or speak for any church. They are in the hotel business and offer amenities necessary to compete with other hotels. Almost EVERY hotel room in this country has had a bible placed in it for as long as I have been alive. Most of these hotels also offer pay per view movies. Strange you don't apply the same judgement to the owners of these establishments. Double Standard?...I think so.
Let's not sling garbage like this around. Let's stay on topic. The religious beliefs of Hotel Owners seem irrelevant to me...

Apparently you've never stayed at the Milwaukee Hyatt. Imagine a 30 story Motel 6.

Just my two cents worth, but FWIW, I wouldn't be in any offended if every hotel had a Bible, a Book of Mormom, and (sorry, I can't remember the proper names at the moment) a Hindu, Buddhist, I Ching text, and whatever else text in the nightstand drawer.

I applaud and welcome diversity and choice. I mean, no one forces us to read ANY of them...but I think it's nice that they are there if we want to read them.

Not trying to offend anyone here...

I didn't know this! Thanks!

I have a friend staying at a Residence Inn for the summer while her house is being remodeled. She has already been there a month, in a 2-bdrm suite, and I finally decided to ask her if she belonged to a FF club, not necessarily Marriott's. Anyway, she said no. Ahhh! As a FTer and FF before I even knew what one was, it took all I had to contain myself. As I was conciously slowing my breathing down, I tried to come to grips with the fact that there are still such people mindlessly floating around out there.

Now, since I am unable to watch these pts remain unaccumulated, I am doing some research for her. First, would someone who knows tell me if she can get retroactive credit for the time she has already been there. Not just what the rules say, but how hard they enforce their policies if one is nice and everything. Also, she will be there for, at least, another month so hopefully this will help her retroactive cause. And, this is why I think she should put her stay pts into the place who she is actually giving money to, because they would be the most willing to bend the rules, giving retroactive pts, thinking she might go somewhere else if they act jerky about it. Of course, if Marriott has a partner that willingly gives retroactive pts after enrollment, even for hotel stays, that would be good too.

Finally, the Marriott Visa. Still auto Silver if she got one? Giving her, hopefully, retroactively, a 20% bonus on all her nights or stays? And, if she was starting as Silver, how much more would it take to get her to Platinum, is it different for auto Silver?

Sorry about all the confusing questions, they just kept coming out. We would really, really appreciate any advice on who she should enroll with to best get retroactive pts or regular ones. Thanx.

UPDATE: She just went over to registration and enrolled and, yes, they are crediting her with pts beginning on the first day of her stay! I still don't know if this is standard policy or if her stay doesn't really start until it is completely billed at the end or what, but I, personally, feel alot better now!
