Is the RC a superior choice to the Park Hyatt, both in terms of quality of accomodations and location?

Red Square is about a 15 min walk. Exit the hotel, turn right, turn left when the road dead ends and keep walking. When this road dead ends, you'll need to cross the street and head left. Can't miss it.

Just returned from RC Moscow - the best hotel in the city! Higly recommend! Especially roof top bar with the unobstructed vew of the Kremlin!

I have stayed three times at the Royal Aurora. While the RC is nicer (probably the finest property of any hotel in Moscow, the Royal Aurora is the nicest of all the "regular" Marriott brands and is only a 10 minutes or so walk to Red Square, the closest of the Marriotts (the Courtyard is about the same). Best of all, it is a cat. 5 so if you have a visa certificate, you can use it there. Probably the best point/$ value you can find. Rates there run around $400-$600 a night.

agree on Aurora point - it is nicest MC brand at the moment. from distance from MC properties to Red square, it goes like this: Aurora (~10 mins), Grand (~20 mins), Tverskaya (~25-30 mins). Renaissance is not at walking distance - take subway. RC/CY are closest to Red square.

I never stayed at Grand but would be staying there from this Sunday - would post an update, however if anyone is interested in anything specific re: this property let me know and I'll try to find out.
