Marriott buying Le Meridien

Announcement should be made in the next following days that Marriott would buy Le Meridien Hotels to the English group Compass Granada. Confirmed information or just rumor??

If Marriott wins the bid, do you think they will keep the Le Meridien brand or merge them into Renaissance and JW Marriots?

I think that they will merge them into Marriotts and Renaissances because two upscale brand names are sufficient for one company.
