E*TRADE bonus
I opened an acount with E*TRADE about 7-8 months ago and I was promised 7,500 marriott rewards points. Has any one had any luck receiving these points? Does any one know the right person at E*TRADE to contact to get the points posted?

I had no problem getting 20,000 points - about 1 week.
Was this for just opening or for a deposit? Maybe actual money being deposited would trigger the points. |
I opened the account and made more than the minimum deposit at the same time. You received your points within one week of making the deposit? I was suppose to receive the points within 8 weeks of funding, but the fine print says the account must remain open and funded(which it is) for at least six months. Any suggestions regarding who to contact and where to contact them at E*TRADE?

AVOID E*TRADE!!!!
I can't stress that strong enough. They failed to post the promised miles not only to me but to several other people I know. I mentioned it at work, and during the day I heard horror stories from over 30 people just in my office area. I spent month trying to get them to post the promised miles, but they told me I'd have to supply a "written transcript of the conversation I had with their customer service rep. some 9 months earlier". Get real, who makes a word for word transcript of a conversation on a phone? Needless to say they may have "won" by saving a few bucks on the promised miles they never delivered, but they lost my business and that of numerous other "ticked off" (no former) customers. The funny part is, their promotion is to improve their business... but their actions make it clear they couldn't care less! There are a lot of great on-line brokers out there. My favorite is Ameritrade. They are intelligent, polite and extremely helpful (even when you have basic questions). I've never had a problem with them in the several years I've been dealing with them. E*Trade on the other hand couldn't seem to mail a check to me (after half a dozen tries... it took filing a complaint with the SEC and my state attorney general before they would give me back my money. AVOID E*TRADE is my motto! |
