Transfer Question
Hi all
I have noted on some threads and on the Marriott site that one can transfer files from Marriott to various frequent flyer programs in a similar fashion to Hilton's program. I understand also that Latinpass miles can be transferred to Marriot. What other airline's miles/points can be transferred to Marriott's program and what is the exchange rate? Is there a page somewhere that gives details of these transfers. It would be interesting to compare the overall transfer rate with that of Hilton's program. cheers Peter |

Thanks
However the information contained therein does not appear accurate. It suggests that no miles can be transferred to the program when in fact one can at least transfer Mexicana miles to Marriott. It is possible that Marriott has expanded its program to be similar to Hilton's to some extent. cheers Peter [This message has been edited by ffhound (edited 12-02-2000).] |
Peter:
The previous thread (dated June, 2000) was accurate as of that date. The only thing that has changed since relates to LatinPass, not Mexicana. Here is a more recent thread if it makes you any happier. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum63/HTML/000424.html But if you don't like the answers you receive here, I suggest you call or e-mail Marriott yourself. |

Sorry if you took offence to my reply Upgrademe - I was thankful for your reply. I was just looking for a little more information that's all. My reply should not be construed in any way as a criticism of your post.
Admittedly sometimes I tend to ask questions without having done a thorough search first -I shall search around a bit in future. I stand corrected on the Latinpass transfer. cheers Peter [This message has been edited by ffhound (edited 12-02-2000).] |
Peter - could you let us know after you have researched this. The only airline I am aware of which allows conversion of miles to Marriott is Latin Pass. And if their rules are the same as that with respect to Hilton, they will not allow the "freebie" 5000 miles to be converted.
