Marriott Rewards Customer Service....Nonexistent?
Hello all,
I am relatively new to the Marriott Rewards program. I'm Platinum in Starwood's Preferred Guest and 95% of my travel is at Starwood properties. I would like to start using Marriott more often but my first impressions of the program are less than wonderful.
I joined the Marriott program online. I received my account number online and was told that an email would follow in a week with a password for online access. It's been better than a month and I've received nothing. I've contacted customer service several times to no avail. I send emails and no one responds. Wehn I call I'm told I must send another email. This is crazy!
I've had 2 Marriott stays since joining Marriott Rewards. I'd like to be able to go online and see if they posted. Is this lapse in service common in the Marriott program? Am I better off sticking with Starwood? I'm starting to get that feeling.
Thanks,
winstoda

In general, Marriott's customer service is pretty good. I would avoid using email though.

Hi Hawkeye,
I've tried viewing the account the way you suggest. The problem is that since I've already tried to register the account once to no avail, I can't register it again. I get an error. When I call about the error I'm told it's a technical issue and I need to send an email. It's a very frustrating circle!!!

Sorry for your problems. They have some problems with online access, however I've been happy with email turnaround time recently:
Emailed on Sunday about bad hotel stay.
Got reply Wednesday morning saying they'd investigate.
Hotel manager called me Wednesday afternoon.
