Marriott Cheques are back!

$50 Cheques:
1 week pool: $47.00
2 week pool: $45.00
1 month pool: $42.50

There are also $100 checks, but the % discount is not nearly as good.

what are 50 cheques?

Yeah they are getting stingy with the discounts at Volumebuy, hardly makes it worth the time. Did you see the Barnes & Noble certificates this week? 5% off! I know money is money, but it probably costs more than that to put it through on our credit cards.

I agree that the discounts offered by Volumebuy are weak. I buy my Marriott gift certificates at 25% discount, and get them within days. If anyone is interested, here's a cut & paste of a post I made a while back:

(1) sign up at ebates.com, which gives cash rebates for purchases at various Internet stores, including 25% at Sparks.com http://www.ebates.com/index.jsp?referrer=betterthanwork
(2) From Ebates.com, enter Sparks.com, a store that sells a bunch of gift cretificates, including Marriott Hotels.
(3) Buy your gift certificate and remember to click the box that entitles you to ClickRewards -- currently 200 for any purchase over $20.

Using this system, if you buy a $50 Marriott gift certificate, you'll get $12.50 cash rebate from ebates.com (25%); 200 ClickRewards miles -- convertible to 200 airline miles or 300 Marriott Rewards points; and, of course, the $50 gift certificate to Mariott.

Good luck all.

Gift Certificates from sparks.com are not eligible for the ebates.com rebate. Granted, I did receive the rebate a couple of times but generally I haven't gotten it consistently.

That's interesting, I've had no problems so far. I've had over 40 transactions, all properly credited.

mschaefer, you just got lucky. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Don't get too set up if you don't get the rebate next time. So 25% via ebates.com isn't sure thing...

I also have gotten the Ebate for gift certificate purchases at Sparks. And I just checked the Ebates site and that disclaimer about not earning on gift certificates is not there anymore!

FYI,

12. Q: Do gift certificates qualify for a rebate?
A: Unfortunately, ebates.com cannot give rebates for the portion of a purchase that is made with gift certificates. Nor, can we give rebates for the purchasing of gift certificates, with the exception of those purchased at Spa Wish.
from ebates.com's FAQ.
