Marriott Website Changeover
 

Marriott has changed it's website to reflect the Marriott Rewards program change.

My status went from Gold to Silver. However, I think they were very generous in setting the requirements for to me to attain Gold status under the new program. I should attain that within the next 6 weeks.

I received my new program information yesterday and also went from gold to silver. I'm not sure what you are talking about, though, as far as what it will take to obtain gold. Did they issue you a specific challenge, or are you talking just about their standard levels?

I am fine with silver as I have switched to Hilton this year (Hey, aren't I the perfect candidate for a challenge?), but still have the occasional Marriott stay.

If you check your account on the website, it will tell you how many nights you need for 'Gold'.

I am currently headed to N CA for 12 days. Under the old program, I would have maxed out at 38 nights (have a lot nights rolling off whose age will be > 12 months at the end of June).

The website tells me I need 18 nights more to acheive 'Gold' under the program. I should reach that in July.

There's no promotion involved.
