Point Savers!! Where are they???
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I was really disgusted today. Point Savers have not been posted for 2nd quarter on the www.marriottrewards.com site and the phone automatic service has been down a lot. They are planning surprises in June (do I want surprises???). I finally got a supervisor when the (801) agent could not answer any questions. The Rewards service center is the pits. Anyone else annoyed also? In 10 days, I will presumably receive the new dates for 2nd quarter Point Savers in the mail. Marriott seems unaware that the 2nd quarter began April 1 and ends June 30. I tried asking an on line customer service agent but she answered questions I did not ask and avoided this one.
Are they really dropping Point Savers??? What gives? Anyone know? |
I am very annoyed with Marriott at the current time - as it is practically impossible to redeem points anywhere.
I am platinum and have over 300,000 points - what on earth will i do with them? |
This is interesting. I am also Platinum, with almost 400,000 points, and I use them all the time. The trick, in my opinion, is to use them at non-Marriott-brand hotels, e.g., Residence Inns and Renaissance. I've had no problem getting award nights at those hotels, even at peak times. Marriotts can be tough.

We used to favor Marriott over Hilton and had no trouble getting Marriott awards for Marriott hotels. Now I am finding it is easier to redeem Hilton awards. Witness the PIP where probably 20 plus rooms at the Hilton in Waikiki were award rooms occupied by Flyertalkers.

The Spring and Summer Point savers can be located at: http://www.marriottrewards.com/offers/psavers/

Some interesting info -- the Marriott in Montreal is on the summer point savers list -- perfect for the upcoming FAQ.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Someone at Marriott must be listening after all! Updated PointSavers is a new posting. Correct me...Are these less generous PointSavers than given in the past??? I ditched my old ones. Seems to me that Hilton's PointStretchers give a greater discount. Of course, the real advantage is when you can use a Saver or Stretcher for an upscale hotel which would otherwise be at a premium. I am excited about the FAQ!!!
