Points for a recent stay
I recently spent two nights at the Marriott Grande Viste in Orlando. The room rate was $99 per night but with other stuff charged to the room the total was around $315 including tax.
In the past I had been credited 10 mile per dollar on the total bill at Marriott but this time I was given a flat total of 2000 points. Does anyone know what might have happened here -- I am still relatively new in my pursuit of points/miles. I tried to get in touch with Customer Service but they were pretty useless. Thanks in advance. |

It seems to me that you should have got the full amount due to you as it doesn't look like Marriott excludes corp rates, etc any more. (They used to.) |
I have been a Marriott platinum for ten years and I don't recall that they ever withheld points from certain rates. My experience is that they always offered ten points per dollar at every rate, and for all charges on the bill except taxes or "pass-throughs." It's always worth calling them if the points don't show up or if there seems to be a mistake. They will probably ask you to fax the bill, and will then correct the point record.
