Rewards: Marriott gives six American AAdvantage miles per dollar spent at Marriott Hotels, Resorts, Suites or Renaissance Hotels or Resorts through Dec. 22. Rewards members earn double AAdvantage miles for stays at seven other Marriott brands. Register at www.marriottrewards.com or call 801-468-4000.

Do you have to be a Marriott Rewards member to sign up under this promotion? Or can you just call the 800 number listed and sign up your frequent flier number?

You have to join the Rewards and opt for AAdvantage miles (in order to qualify). If you are already a member then change your profile (AA miles instead of points) via website.
