Which Marriott it Atlanta
 

I will be in Atlanta this weekend for pleasure and I am not sure which at Marriott location to stay?

Help ;-)

I stayed at the airport Marriott a month ago. Ok hotel, free shuttle but too close to airport -- noisy. Though I had a good view of takeoffs all day and I sleep easy so it didn't bother me ...

My bet would be the JW Marriott in Buckhead.

I agree with the JW, especially for a leisure stay. If you're here for shopping, you don't need a car. (I am looking at the hotel as I type this http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) It is in the parking lot of Lenox Square. It has a Hertz counter at the hotel (check times it is open, but they allow drops at the airport)--works well with MARTA (take a DORAVILLE train from the airport and get off at LENOX. The hotel is right across the street.

I've never stayed in the Buckhead Marriott, but the Marriott Downtown in Peachtree Plaza is great. It also has central location with Marta Connections. The Marriott is connected to a mall with stores and is in the center of town with Hard Rock, All Star Cafe, That Park (I forget the name) all within walking distance. The service I received there was excellent. Nice Concerge Level too..

I have stayed at three Marriotts in the Atlanta area and my thoughts are:
1- Peachtree Plaza Downtown is ok, but the area leaves a lot to be desired.
2- Marriott Suites Midtown is between downtown & Buckhead. The area has some great new restaurants and you can't beat Piedmont Park.
3- JW Marriott is connected to Lenox Square Mall and in Buckhead if you are looking for fun nightlife.
All three can be reached via Marta from the airport.
If you are planning any excursions outside the city limits (including traveling around Buckhead) it would be best to rent a car.
