Internation Points
What has been your experience on miles posting from international hotels? Mine posted within 12 days and noticed that there was a difference between the rate I was changed (in dollars) on my credit card and the rate Marriott used -- a difference of about $50 or (with bonus) 700 points. Not that it is a big deal, but was wondering what people thought of this.

I also find that when I stay outside the US, there is a slight difference in the amount charged in relation to points credited. Usually a small amount, so therefore no sweat. I have had mixed results in posting these points though. I usually end up faxing the hotel bill atleast three times.

you don't get points on the tax- and tips-part of the bill. And internationally those tax/tips are often included in the rate, but deducted for the points-calculation.
So Jimboliguy: in your recent Marriott Zurich bill there was a 4% value added tax and 15% tips automatically included (but deducted for the points-calculation). [This message has been edited by Rudi (edited 04-12-99).] |
