Marriott Visa "regular" upgrade to "premier"

I have a "regular" Marriott Visa. Called Chase yesterday to upgrade to "premier". I was told there were no bonus points, no waiver of annual fee, no sign up certificate. Nothing!! Is this true? Has anyone else had any luck with a bonus for upgrading?

Typically this is how it goes when upgrading a card. The bonus points/fee waiver, etc. are typically for new applicants. You can try calling a few times and see if you get an agent that will offer something but it is doubtful.

Sign up for the premier card separately to get the bonus points etc, then cancel your regular card.

Cheers.

The regular and premier are 2 different products. You can sign up for the premier card and get the bonus just like any other card member. You only lose the ability to keep the same CC number/ credit history, but who cares of credit history after one point when you've a mortgage, cars, etc :).
