Earning Points for Others' Stays

I was hoping some of the Marriott Experts in here could help me out with a question. If I'm travelling with a colleague and we both get our own rooms at a Marriott in our individual names, can I earn points on both of our rooms? The other person doesn't participate in rewards programs, so I was wondering if I would be able to get the points for his room.

Thanks in advance for the responses!

You can get points for up to 3 rooms (yours and 2 others), i believe, given that all are under your MR account number.

Indeed one room and up to 2 other rooms. You must pay for all the rooms you want to earn points for.
So I would suggest you arrange this with colleague that he pays the room to you and you pay both rooms to the hotel.
Be sure to mention upfront during check-in that you will pay for both rooms.

Alternatively, if this arrangement with your colleague would not be possible you can also refer him : http://www.marriott.com/marriott-rew...er-a-friend.mi
Through a referral you will earn 2000 points per stay for the fist 5 stays your colleague does. (and he will get these 2000 points as well)

Unfortunately, there's no way I can pay for him. Company policy. That refer-a-friend program looks like it'd be helpful though, so I'll definitely sign up for that.

Thanks!
