upgrading to Marriott Premier Card

upgrading to Marriott Premier Card
I currently have a regular Marriott CC. If I apply for the black premier card, will I get the additional bonus points being offered to new applicants? Thanks for your help.

I currently have some referral certificates for the Premier card (same 50K bonus that seems to be generally available) The T&C's with those state in part:
"This one time bonus offer is valid only for first time Marriott Rewards Credit Card Cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing Marriott Rewards Credit Card Cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer"
So I doubt you would be officially eligible. I don't know what people have actually experienced, however.

I recall somewhere in that thread, hearing about a user in your situation who DID get the bonus points by applying again, but did NOT get the cat 1-4 cert.
