Marriott CC future? Strategy?

Me & spouse opened one each and got the bonus
Believe in July
We got the bonus and none of travel for work - so don't need the card given there is annual fee.

What should do with the cards?
Do they have no annual fee cards? What is it called?

What card do you have? The Premier one gives you 15 elite nights/year (Makes you a Silver Marriott member) and a Cat 1-4 cert each year. And it gives you 2x points on Food/air/car rental and I think 5x on Marriott purchases. I think these benefits aren't bad for the annual fee of ~$80.

It's only a 1-4 the first year, renewal years at 1-5. That can alone make the annual fee worth it.

A night at a category 5 hotel for the annual fee of $85 is worth it in my opinnion. Actual cost for a room can be $200+/night.

Would the "one night" be an electronic coupon? Will it expire? Can I accumulate them?

My logic was, if I use a single one of it, then the additional nights, either I pay high price or move to another hotel!

Any tips or thoughts?

You receive a 1 night e-cert and I believe they expire within 6 months. So you cannot accumulate them to build up let's say a 3 day weekend.
