RC Battery Park: Parking?

I'm planning a weekend stay at the RC Battery Park. Parking at the property is $60/day. Does anyone have any suggestions for lower cost options? I've searched the threads and I only found an entry that's pretty dated. Appreciate any ideas. Also, if anyone has any tips to score an upgrade, I'd be happy to hear that too. :D

Thanks and happy holidays to all!

This looks like one option: http://www.ggmcparking.com/locations...battery_place/

You should also have a decent chance of finding street parking along Battery Place for free, one block west of the hotel.

Street parking in the area is pretty easy to come by if you're familiar with NYC parking regulations. Over a weekend you shouldn't have to move, except for either friday or monday morning 9-1030 (if memory serves me right) depending on your exact stay parameters.

If you don't want to leave it on the street, there's a garage two blocks up from the hotel that I recall being around $40 a night.

Thanks to all! I might see if I can get a street spot. I'll be coming in Fri evening and leaving Sun afternoon.

I used to live across the street. You'll have zero problems finding a street space as long as you come in after 5pm on Friday.

If for some reason you don't have any luck finding a free space, there are plenty of decently priced garage spaces up West Street a bit. Just go north on West Street from the hotel (you'll have to go towards Battery Park and make a U-turn) and turn right any time before you reach the full service Marriott. There's 3 garages back on those side streets that should be half (or less) of the hotel's parking price.

The doormen can be a bit snotty if you don't show up in a car or valet though.

I always use bestparking.com to find the cheapest parking in the area I'm staying at.
