Hey, I'm a MR noob. Can anybody tell me what level I will start the new year at? I am currently Platinum and my stats are listed below. Thanks!

Rollover Nights: 25
Total Nights Earned This Year: 97
Total Membership Nights: 132

Your current plat status is likely valid thru 29 Feb 12.
With the 97 nights earned this year I'd say you'll be plat theu 28 Feb 13 with 22-nights carried forward into 2012 to start your "run" at the folowing years status.

You forgot that rollover nights do not rollover to next year.

So, Nights - Status - Rollover or
97 - 75 = 22 - 25 so You will be Platinum but start the year with 0 nights.

Are nights stayed between 1/1/2012-2/29/2012 counted as total night for "this year (2011)"?

In other words, does "this year"'s total night accumulatation end on 1/31/2011 or 2/29/2012?

Thanks.

Nights stayed between 1/1/2012-2/29/2012 counted for 2012. The nights earned for 2011 ends on 12/31/2011.

In the case of the OP, the total nights earned for 2011 is 72 (54 + 18) not including rollover nights from the year before. Therefore, there will be no roll over for 2012 but will have Plat status until end of Feb 2013.

Thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to make sure that I would be Platinum for all of next year.

Qualification year is 1/1 - 12/31. Status runs from time earned through February two years later. i.e. earned status on 10/15/11 good through 2/28/13.

Thanks for the update.

i was also told that they do a 3 yr avg. So if you stayed 225 nights in 10. 0 in 11 and 12 you should still be Platinum until Feb 2014 but i have not seen it proved or otherwise stated. Because you still maintained the 75 avg.

Every rule has an exception. And let's not forget YMMV can apply here too.

That was in the days before rollover.

MR can/does do status extensions depending upon the situation and attitude of the agent & customer. There are some from the old school that still want to provide good customer service and others that will do the least possible to get by.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee what you'll get so best to study the rules and play their game. Exceptions are always possible.
