Earning points

Membership T&Cs state the following:

"A Member is eligible to receive Points/Miles for staying at participating Marriott brand hotels or Ritz-Carlton hotels for his/her room and up to two additional rooms. At least one of the rooms must be reserved and registered in the Member's name and the Member must pay for all rooms..."

Question is re. the last part. In a July 2011 business stay, my company directly paid the hotel rather than me paying and getting it reimbursed. Considering this, will I get points for this stay or do I need to directly pay the hotel in order to get points (the hotel had my membership number on record - haven't seen the points)

thanks,

Yes, most programs exempt members from earning points or stay credit for master billed rooms. Some properties have gone to the extreme of not giving credit when using a corporate credit card, without regard for it being company or card-holder paid. There's even a thread on SPG about a wife not getting credit for a second room in her name when the husband paid the bill! And of course there are posts from people did get credit when the property messed up.

I've seen the full spectrum. In your case, it appears they did things right and no credit due. You might try calling in and see if they will break the rules for you.
