Marriott Gift Card promos [Merged threads]

Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere but I just checked the Marriott Gift card site and the 10% bonus or 10 points/ dollar bonus are back through 1/8/2012 Note that you cannot combine the offers (I tried and it wouldn't allow it).

10% Bonus - type MMF into the promo code box and an extra 10% will be added to your card value

10 points/ dollar - put your MR # in the appropriate promo code box and 10 pts/ dollar will be added to your MR account up 25,000 points.

Thanks for posting it! Does the purchase of the gift card get additional 5 points per dollar spent when paying with the Marriott CC?

Thanks.

Anyone had luck using this in conjunction with bigcrumbs recently? I remember last year it took FOREVER for the 4% extra to post, but it finally did.

$100 or 10,000 points on a $1,000 card purchase as I figure it. Tough call.

10,000 is probably the bare minimum for a room at a crappy FI, CY or SHS while $100 cash might cover it even with taxes. At least 15,000 - 20,000 for something better like a RI or FS which you should be able to do for under $150 or $200.

Leaning towards the cash although it could be a better deal if you have a specific redemption property in mind and do the comparison....

I prefer this 1; https://www.marriottvacationcardoffer.com/delta

I save 10%, use my Marriott CC for 5 pts per $ and get 1000 SkyPesos

with this GC you spend $900 and get a $1000 GC, the other above you spend $1000 and get $1100

But the DL offer is for vacation card, not GC. Anyone knows what is the difference Vacation card and GC?

Can we use GC for ADP/ADV rates?

Thanks.

AFAIK there is no difference between the 2 just what they call them. Ive used them both at all the properties w/o any problems or questions being asked

also I dont believe any of these can be used for ADP/ADV even when they were considered a VISA CC

To be honest the gift card is a nice idea for you to cover

1. Catering in Limited Service Hotel
2. Catering across the board if you are not staying.

I think I am getting one. Even if that means the lousy gift card situation (of no points for hotel stay due to handling issue or stuff like that) I can still find a good use for it.

my last 4 stays where my GC was sued to pay part of my total with the remainder going to and the stay closing to my VISA not only got me the full amount of pts but my Mega B credit as well

Don't forget you will earn points when you spend the extra $100...so the difference is only 8500 for plats, 8750 for golds, etc. assuming 10/pts per dollar spent.

Judy,
Do you think there is a way to double dip with the My Points and the Marriott bonus points offers?
