Strategy if Marriott is boring?

Have been with Marriott since 7 yrs ago.
Do any of u have had a slight thought that vacationing at Marriott or their breakfast is boring?

Any strategy to handle this?

Pretty broad statements given there are Marriotts worldwide that aren't boring or have boring breakfasts. Perhaps you should expand your locations when thinking of vacation spots ;)

Cheers.

Last 2 occasions we stayed at the residence inn in Los Angeles - it was a wedding trip a year apart. Turned out to be the same place that we stayed as the wedding happened at the same venue.

And on that you base that all Marriotts are boring worldwide & offer boring breakfasts?

One strategy would be not to stay the RI-LA again in the future :p :D

Cheers.

Perhaps it wasn't the ~hotel~ that was boring but instead the event. ;)

Is this the one in Beverly Hills? I like this RI, have been through 3 times. Great staff, nice rooms, nice breakfast spreads. The valet parking could use some work though, not cheap.

Marriots in the Carribean such as Cayman have great breakfasts including omlette stations. For a large # of guest, offering a little of everything is preferred vs trying to please a few guests at the expense of everyone

We look at MR as a way to stay cheap/free in exciting destinations. I expect a hotel to be comfortable and safe and don't look to it to provide excitement.

Considering RIs are not FS hotels, their breakfasts tend to be more regulated (or defined) by their brand standards than a FS resort property might have.

If you want more variety of breakfast offerings, I would suggest staying at FS Marriotts (Marriotts, JWs, Rens, RCs, etc.). You will tend to find more breakfast options.

You might have an aversion to LA, hence a Marriott that just happens to be in LA.

Fairfield, Res Inn, breakfast are boring but free. CY breakfast is boring although getting better with the new lobby's. Marriott and Ren breeakfast domestic are about what you get in all the hotels chains.
International properties are usaully great. The best service/ welcome gifts, free brekfasts etc have bben at international locations while on vacation.

Marriott Costa Rica, Free breakfast every day for the family which incluuded a smoothie bar, omlette bar and all some of the best local fruits and spacailty dishes you could ever ask for.

For the proper balance of "free" and "edible" I find is SHS. Decent, hot foot, and of course free. This doesn't count CL breakfasts....YMMV with them even though they are free.

I find that Tabasco sauce will help spice up a boring breakfast.

I love it. Strategy to combat boring breakfast/vacation at Marriott. How many more will bite?

If you don't like the breakfast, skip it. I've tried SHS, RI and FFI free breakfast and RI has the best breakfast. I have also tried breakfast at Hyatt Place and HIE and Super 8. IMO I prefer the SHS and the RI, and if it's not because of the kids we would probably skip the breakfast.

I have only tried the brekkie at the Ren in Germany and yes it's a thousand times better than the free ones (I know that one is offered to everyone and the other one is for elites only).
