I have had the desk roll me to the next level when I was close. I dont think it really is a one time event.

Hi all,

The worst point of this is ... the OP got the upgrade when his next stay is at a CY ... so no real benefits other than the welcome gift (and some bonus points)

Cheers,

Welcome to Platinum. It may not have been the best move you've made, but probably not the worst either. We never know what the future holds, but the odds probably aren't great that you'd need that silver bullet and as someone else posted if you did "need it" they'd probably either oblige with an "extra" silver bullet or offer a challenge.

Well, we didn't want to rub the OP's nose in the stupidity (kidding).

Cheers.

Isn't that what we, FT, are renowned for? Other than being know-it-alls that is

OP, enjoy the status! It will make you yearn to keep it, especially at full service locations!

Is Marriottians the correct term? Marriottites?
Yeah, what was silly was my impatience to become a Plat!

As far as some of the other posts in this thread, aren't some people confusing the concept of a "soft landing" with challenges and early boosts?
