Newbie question / advice
In Aug. I'm staying long-term at a residence inn in AZ. I had to personally talk to someone to acquire a lower rate for the long term stay. I enrolled into
Marriot Rewards. When I check in, I plan to give the front desk my marriot rewards number. During my stay, where is the site that allows you to enter the codes to help boost my points or give free nights,etc..? Any advice / strategy on making the most of my points during my long term stay? Thank you |
What is a "long term " stay?
You are aware that RI only gives 5 points per dollar Get a marriot credit card |

Call the Marriott Rewards and tell them how many nights you plan on staying. They may make it easier for you to get to Gold or Platinum status. Once you get to Gold and Platinum you will start earing more.

"Did you make sure your negotiated rate includes MR credit? Not all of them do. "
The person I spoke to, said I would get 5 points per dollar spent. Thanks for all the good advice thus far. |
+1 on the advice to get a Marriott credit card - I definitely recommend the slightly higher-priced Premier" Visa Signature card since you get more points for each dollar you spend, along with other upgrades over the basic card. You will be amazed at how quickly the points pile up if you use it to pay for your Marriott charges. I've had mine less than a year and it has really pumped up my MR account!

Also, remember your nights must post before your status changes. You don't get bumped just because you have spent 10, 50, 75 nights in a room. With such a long booking, I'm sure they will be billing your card every few weeks. Ask if they can also post your nights as well. Fortunately, MR does not have a stay component that might prevent them from breaking up your posting.
Enjoy the stay. |
