Time to post points
 

I did a search, but... probably used the wrong terms.

I have a trip to Paris coming up with a Marriott rewards reservation. Right now I am about 20,000 points short of what the reservation needs based on current points and what I expect to get over the next week.

The 7 day "window" is June 25th. I am checking out of a hotel on either June 21. My expereince has been that it takes a while for the points to post. I will earn around 8,500 from that stay which would make a big dent in what I have to "purchase" Has anyone ever had sucess calling and getting them to "accelerate" the posting of the points after checkout? Or having them not cancel the reservation at 7 days if you ask them to wait on the points to post?
