So, the deal is I can pony up 40K and stay a Plat, or do nothing and I'll drop down and soft-land at silver, is that right?

Where is this on your profile? I think that I was in the 55-60 range last year, but I don't see anything on my profile for this and I still show platinum.

Anyone find a way to buy back? I just checked my dad's status dropped from PLT to Gold. But I don't see an option to buy back on the website... it was there for a few days back in February but not there anymore.

40k for Plat. is worth it for those not planning to earn Plat. or Gold this year because it means next year you will drop to Gold and not have to buy up at all. :)
