Where are the emails for the discounted rooms?

Help!?!

I need to make a mad dash for a dozen rooms before the end of the year to maintain Plat. Most will be on business but a few will be on my own dime.

I used to get emails showing where the hotels were discounted in my area (Sacramento/Roseville) for really low rates like $59 (Marriott Rancho Cordova)...but I don't see those any more.

There is a cut off of how much I'm going to toss out the window to maintain Plat on my own dime...especially if I'm going to go check in and check out.

Does anyone know if those emails have stopped or if there is a way to access them on MR's website? I haven't seen them for quite awhile.

Thanks!

Dawn

I've been getting the weekend updates; think one just came across a couple of days ago. Did you check to make sure you're still on the email list? I don't know re: accessing them on Marriott's website specifically. I'd say plug in your dates for the cities you want & see if the cheap rates show up.

Cheers.

I still have the one I received on Monday. If you PM me your e-mail address I'd be happy to forward it to you.

If you search for "Marriott EBreaks" in your favorite search engine, you should see it/

Are you talking about the special Holiday Rates emails MI used send to everyone around this time in years past? I haven't seen any of those, or any special rates for the Holidays yet this year, so I guess bookings are really up.

Alternatively, you could just type, "MEB," in the Corp/Promo Code box and check what is available in your area. At this rate a Friday or Sat night stay is required.

I have noticed the Marriott hotels in the DC area have lowered their rates considerably for the week between Xmas and New Year's, as low as $54 per night. Some of the rates are advanced purchase rates, however with no refunds 24 hours after booking.

You missed the 1/2 off Sage Hotels - Fairfield Inn in Vegas was $45/night. :(

I have been physically checking in/out when I do these mattress runs. I don't do them often, but I had to do it twice w/Hilton for this year (for Diamond in 2011) and now I may need a few for December for Marriott. I'm soooo close. I need 15 more nights and I think I can pull of 12 w/work. Three nights on my own dime is not bad...and we can go to Sonoma (1.5 hours away) for a Friday night (twice) and maybe one night in San Francisco (need to get our VISAs for Brazil anyway)....but just in case the 12 nights for work don't pan out, I wanted to have a couple of fillers ready--just in case.

I would HATE being one or two days shy of Platinum....ugh. That just sounds so awful to come so close.

I don't want to chance getting a room out of state (not physically be there) because I have heard that a lot of times, those stays simply do not count as stays.

Thanks for the great information! It was exactly what I was looking for.
