Hilton Diamond's easy to get with the Amex Surpass Card. 40K of spend gets you there immediately. If you have a Amex Centurion then 2 stays gets you to Diamond. Don't see any other way to get there any faster.....

I find it is nice to have both HH and Marriott for promos. One can switch between programs just to maximize promo earnings. By being at the highest level in both programs, one will also get maximum regular points and not lose out when switching programs.
If all things being equal, I generally choose Marriott. I use a lot of point redemption for the Cat 1-4 hotels and Marriott points are worth a lot more than Hilton at those level. At the high end, HH redemption with the Amex discount is nice. |
