Yeah, my experience with the weekend breakfast policy has been unfortunate. I do ask everytime but the only thing to show for it has been a single Starbucks coupon for a two-day weekend stay for two of us:rolleyes: (this was the Boston Copley, if anyone is keeping a tally). It is to the point where I'm avoiding FS Marriott properties on weekends. With HH, your breakfast benefit (if that is what you choose) is seven days a week.
Anyway, there is a thread around here which lists which Marriott are giving out free breakfast vouchers. I would suggest checking that prior to your visits to see how others have fared. Here is that thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...-weekends.html |
I've had a few breakfast coupons on weekends this year. It may be that I achieved PP this year and they only give this benefit to PPs.

quick question concerning free breakfest for elites, do we have to eat at the lounge or can have breakfest buffet at the lobby? The reason i ask this is the lounge breakfest in a lot of marriotts/rens are pretty poor.

We just stayed at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront and they have recently returned to their policy of having the lounge opened on the weekends. Breakfast on Saturday was excellent and included made to order eggs and pancakes.

I'm not saying that you're wrong, but in my own experience, I'm still batting about 50% on the weekend breakfasts.
And....also speaking just for myself....I don't really have a problem when a deeply discounted weekend rate doesn't include a breakfast. Where I do have a gripe is where the weekend rate is as high or higher than what you pay on weekdays, occupancy is just as high, but they still pull the plug on the CL and/or brekkie. Foul! They should at least comp me some coffee and toast to make up for no lounge access. |

I agree that is frustrating. Many times I'll be at the same property for two weeks straight, same rate, etc. but suddenly Saturday morning I'm on my own for breakfast.

recently completed award stays in Europe. Each time I was greeted at check in with, "As we have no CL, your breakfast is complementary." Huge score for me and the family as breakfast was the all you can eat full service buffet including made to order eggs/omelets.
Domestically, I am probably 75/25 getting comped breakfast vs. not for FS Marriott stays. I do like the "breakfest" verbiage. Stayed at the RI in Mont Tremblant several years ago and it was a full contact sport to get your toast and scrambled eggs.... |

I'd like to see your definition of "many". Since Marriott tightened up benefits (you can search for "not to overachieve") a couple of years ago, most properties dropped their discretionary allowance for elite breakfasts over weekends.
